Today a Kurdish Cultural Centre and two other Kurdish-owned businesses in Paris were targeted by an armed man, killing three people and injuring three others. We condemn this heinous attack and all forces behind this act of barbarism in the heart of Europe.
In the last few years the Turkish state has initiated an all out war against the Kurdish people both inside and outside of Turkey. The attack against Kurds in Paris has once again shown that the genocidal policies of the Turkish state against the Kurdish people knows no borders. In a time where the Turkish military is killing Kurds in Turkey, Syria and Iraq, it is very concerning that these attacks have spilled over into Europe once again.
This is the second time in 10 years that Paris has become the scene of a political massacre conducted against the Kurds and Kurdish women. On January 9, 2013 three Kurdish women political activists were assassinated by Turkish intelligence forces. Unfortunately the French government did not fulfill its responsibilities in investigating and holding accountable those responsible for the murders. The true culprits were never brought to justice as a result of the French government’s unwillingness to pursue the truth and justice.
We, as the Kurdistan National Congress, do not see this attack as an isolated individual attack. We are concerned by initial statements from French officials that categorize the attack as an individual act of racially motivated violence. The fact that all three targets were Kurdish-affiliated shows that this was an organized and a politically motivated attack against a specific community.
How did the assailant know that there was a meeting at exactly the time of the attack? Who transported him to the scene of the attack? Could the suspect have been radicalized and recruited by Turkish operatives inside prison? All of these lead us to believe that this was organized by the Turkish state. We urge the French government to ensure a thorough investigation into the circumstances of this incident as this is not only an assault against the Kurdish people but against all the peoples of Europe and its democracy.
When the inhumane ISIS attacked Paris and other European cities Kurdish men and women in the YPG and YPJ led the fight and sacrificed more than 12,000 lives in the ultimate defeat of the caliphate. We call upon the peoples of Europe and the world to stand for the Kurdish people’s right to life and freedom wherever they are.
The Kurdish people and their friends should stand united in the face of these attacks and should call upon the French government to fulfill its responsibilities. The Turkish state needs to be held accountable and must be tried for its crimes. We urge France and the European Union to convene at once to discuss Turkish operations on its soil and take a stand against these act of terrorism.

Aujourd’hui, un centre culturel kurde et deux autres commerces appartenant à des Kurdes ont été pris pour cible par un homme armé, tuant trois personnes et en blessant trois autres. Nous condamnons cette attaque odieuse et toutes les forces à l’origine de cet acte de barbarie au cœur de l’Europe.
Ces dernières années, l’État turc a lancé une guerre totale contre le peuple kurde à l’intérieur et à l’extérieur de la Turquie. L’attaque contre les Kurdes à Paris a montré une fois de plus que la politique génocidaire de l’État turc contre le peuple kurde ne connaît pas de frontières. À une époque où l’armée turque tue des Kurdes en Turquie, en Syrie et en Irak, il est très inquiétant de constater que ces attaques ont une fois de plus débordé en Europe.
C’est la deuxième fois en 10 ans que Paris devient la scène d’un massacre politique mené contre les Kurdes et les femmes kurdes. Le 9 janvier 2013, trois militantes politiques kurdes ont été assassinées par les forces de renseignement turques. Malheureusement, l’Etat français n’a pas assumé ses responsabilités en enquêtant et en tenant pour responsables les auteurs de ces meurtres. Les véritables coupables n’ont jamais été traduits en justice en raison de la réticence du gouvernement français à rechercher la vérité.
Nous, en tant que Congrès national du Kurdistan, ne considérons pas cette attaque comme une attaque individuelle isolée. Nous sommes préoccupés par les premières déclarations des responsables français qui classent l’attaque comme un acte individuel de violence à motivation raciale. Le fait que les trois cibles étaient kurdes montre qu’il s’agit d’une attaque organisée et politiquement motivée.
Comment l’assaillant a-t-il su qu’il y avait une réunion à l’heure exacte de l’attaque ? Qui l’a transporté sur le lieu de l’attaque ? Le suspect aurait-il pu être radicalisé et recruté par des agents turcs en prison ? Tous ces éléments nous amènent à penser que cet attentat a été organisé par l’État turc. Nous exhortons le gouvernement français à assurer une enquête approfondie sur les circonstances de cet incident, car il ne s’agit pas seulement d’une agression contre le peuple kurde, mais contre tous les peuples d’Europe et sa démocratie.
Lorsque l’inhumain ISIS a attaqué Paris et d’autres villes européennes, les hommes et les femmes kurdes des YPG et YPJ ont mené le combat et ont sacrifié plus de 12 000 vies dans la défaite finale du califat. Nous appelons les peuples d’Europe et du monde à défendre le droit à la vie et à la liberté du peuple kurde, où qu’il se trouve.
Le peuple kurde et ses amis doivent rester unis face à ces attaques et doivent appeler le gouvernement français à assumer ses responsabilités. L’État turc doit être tenu pour responsable et doit être jugé pour ses crimes. Nous demandons instamment à la France et à l’Union européenne de se réunir immédiatement sous le titre d’opérations terroristes de l’Etat turc sur son sol et de prendre position contre.

Heute wurden ein kurdisches Kulturzentrum und zwei kurdische Geschäfte in Paris von einem bewaffneten Mann angegriffen, wobei drei Menschen getötet und drei weitere verletzt wurden. Wir verurteilen diesen abscheulichen Anschlag und alle Kräfte, die hinter diesem Akt der Barbarei im Herzen Europas stehen.
In den letzten Jahren hat der türkische Staat einen totalen Krieg gegen das kurdische Volk sowohl innerhalb als auch außerhalb der Türkei begonnen. Der Angriff auf die Kurden in Paris hat einmal mehr gezeigt, dass die Vernichtungspolitik des türkischen Staates gegen das kurdische Volk keine Grenzen kennt. n einer Zeit, in der das türkische Militär Kurden in der Türkei, in Syrien und im Irak ins Vizier nimmt, ist es sehr besorgniserregend, dass diese Angriffe wieder einmal nach Europa übergeschwappt sind.
Dies ist das zweite Mal innerhalb von 10 Jahren, dass Paris zum Schauplatz eines politischen Attentat gegen
Kurd:innen wird. Am 9. Januar 2013 wurden drei Mitglieder der kurdischen Fraunbewegung von türkischen Geheimdienstkräften ermordet. Leider ist die französische Staat ihrer Verantwortung nicht nachgekommen, die Verantwortlichen für die Morde zu ermitteln und zur Rechenschaft zu ziehen. Die wahren Schuldigen wurden nie vor Gericht gestellt, da der französische Staat nicht gewillt ist, die Wahrheit und Gerechtigkeit ans tageslicht zu bringen.
Wir, der Kurdische Nationalkongress, sehen diesen Anschlag nicht als die tat eines Einzälgängers. Wir sind besorgt über die ersten Erklärungen französischer Beamter, die den Angriff als einen einzelnen Akt rassistisch motivierter Gewalt einstufen. Die Tatsache, dass es sich bei allen drei Zielen um kurdische Angehörige handelte, zeigt, dass es sich um einen organisierten und politisch motivierten Angriff gegen eine bestimmte Gemeinschaft handelte.
Woher wusste der Angreifer, dass genau zum Zeitpunkt des Angriffs eine Versammlung stattfand? Wer hat ihn zum Ort des Anschlags gebracht? Könnte der Verdächtige von türkischen Agenten im Gefängnis radikalisiert und rekrutiert worden sein? All dies deutet darauf hin, dass der Anschlag vom türkischen Staat organisiert wurde. Wir fordern die französische Regierung auf, die Umstände dieses Vorfalls gründlich zu untersuchen, da dies nicht nur ein Angriff auf die kurdische Gesellschaft ist, sondern auf alle Gesellschaften Europas und seine Demokratie.
Als der IS in Paris und andere europäische Städte angriff, führten Kurd:innen der YPG und YPJ den Kampf an und opferten mehr als 12.000 Menschenleben, um das Kalifat endgültig zu besiegen. Wir rufen die Menschen Europas und der Welt auf, für das Recht der kurdischen Gesellschaft auf Leben und Freiheit einzutreten, wo auch immer sie sich befinden.
Das kurdische Volk und seine Freunde sollten angesichts dieser Angriffe zusammenstehen und die französische Regierung auffordern, ihrer Verantwortung gerecht zu werden. Der türkische Staat muss zur Rechenschaft gezogen und für seine Verbrechen vor Gericht gestellt werden. Wir fordern Frankreich und die Europäische Union auf, sofort eine Sitzung einzuberufen, um die türkischen Operationen auf ihrem Boden zu erörtern und Stellung gegen diese Terrorakte zu beziehen.
